ABOUT BÁRBARA PÉREZ-SOLERO

Barbara Pérez-Solero was born in Madrid, Spain.

She was raised in a very creative family environment: her father and grandfather were important creatives in the Advertising industry.

Given an early passion for the artistic world that surrounded her, it came as no surprise when she decided to pursue a career as a production designer. This allowed her to draw on her background in fine arts and her deep love for the visual world, channeling both to help further develop the language of cinema.

She has built a successful career in the film industry over the last 30 years, building a hybrid profile of artistic skills including design and construction, research, documentation, and storytelling. These skills, combined with a trilingual education and a globetrotter’s spirit, have honed her professional repertoire in an international context. Across 15 countries and 4 continents, leading production crews both big and small, Pérez-Solero has developed a flexible, innovative, and unique approach to revealing truth through stories.

Her career thus far includes working alongside directors such as John Huston, Ridley Scott, Terry Gilliam, and Sally Potter.

She is also a member of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain as well as founding member and vice-president of AEDAA.
